Madrid stay in lead with 4-0 victory

- Mogan Segadavan

YOUNG Madrid thrashed tailenders Milan Stars 4-0 on Saturday to retain their one point lead at the top of the Mofa Premier League table.

Highland Spurs blew the opportunity of overtaking Madrid when they drew 0-0 with Manchester City and beat Wells United 2-0 in their second match.

Young Ideas leap-frogged three teams to finish the weekend in third place, just two points behind the log leaders with maximum points from their double header.

They beat Crystal Palace 2-1 and Manchester City 2-0.

Despite being just two places away from the bottom of the log, Young Romans were unlucky not to come away with at least a share of the points when they lost 4-3 to Manchester United, who are fifth on the log with a match to spare.

Royal Bucks, who are five points off the pace with a match in hand, also squandered the opportunity of closing the gap when they drew 1-1 with struggling Real Aces.

City Rangers, who are just outside the top eight, scored the biggest win of the weekend with an easy 3-0 win over Subs.

In the First Division, Amathole closed the gap at the top of the log with a 3-0 win over Arsenal.

They trail log-leaders Real City, who beat NU29 2-0, by two points.

Eleven Brothers, who thrashed Scorpions 4-1, are third. Scorpions are just one place away from the bottom of the log.
