- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

KUYGA Masters got their Pelfa League season off to a flying start, thrashing Priory 6-0 at the NMMU south campus last week.

In an even contest at the Victoria Park Sports Club, PE City scored in the dying minutes to beat Hearts 1-0.

It could have been anybody’s game until Travis la Mude secured maximum points with two minutes remaining on the clock.

In Central, NMB Municipality started their season on the back foot, losing 3-1 to African Leopards.

Callies managed to get the better of a tenacious Old Grey, winning 2-0 after leading 1-0 at the break after Ryan Bailey’s cross was deflected into the net by a Grey defender.

Midway in the second half, Bailey was on target to secured maximum points.

At the Londt Park Sports Club, Shamrocks beat Westpark 2-1.

The Rocks got on the scoresheet midway in the first half following a free kick.

After the break, they went 2-0 ahead before Gary Guru reduced the deficit five minutes before the final whistle.

Tomorrow evening, Hearts play Westpark at the Westbourne Oval, with both teams anxious to put their first points on the board.

Old Grey will hope to continue from where they left off when they host NMB Municipality at home.

African Leopards and PE City both won their opening clashes at Victoria Park.

Kuyga Masters could be cut down to size when they host Callies at the Kuyga Community Centre.

Shamrocks play Priory at the NMMU south campus to complete the week’s programme.
