NEARLY 80 equestrians recently took part in the second annual Woodridge/ Sunshine Coast Eventing Competition at Woodridge College.

The event also served as one of the qualifying rounds for provincial placings.

With 79 participants, the event proved to be a successful equestrian weekend.

The participants, from as far afield as George and Port Alfred, competed in the picturesque countryside of Woodridge College and Yellowwoods Estate.

The competition kicked off on Saturday, May 13 with the dressage event in the morning and the show jumping after lunchtime at Woodridge’s newly built show jumping arena, situated on the northern slopes of the school’s grounds and boasting a lovely view of the Van Staden’s bridge and Lady Slipper mountains.

The eventing tracks completed the competition the following day, with the riders galloping and jumping along the hills of the Yellowwoods Estate behind Woodridge College.
