Miniature works big on variety

-

ART on Target and Underculture Contemporary opened the Modern Miniatures National Exhibition at Art on Target in Essexvale on Tuesday night.

The small-scale exhibition is big on variety with just short of 200 artworks that have been entered for this national event “unselected”.

“We have 75 artists and ‘unselected’ means that every single artwork that is submitted or entered for Modern Miniatures gets exhibited in the first leg of the journey here at Art on Target until June 10,” Art on Target gallery and art school’s Bretten-Anne Moolman said.

A selection of miniature works will then take place, which will be displayed in the second leg of the exhibition at the National Arts Festival (NAF).

The exhibition will be on display for the duration of the NAF, at Trinity Hall in Hill Street, in Grahamstown.

The NAF exhibition will then return to Port Elizabeth for a special show at the GFI gallery in Park Drive.

Art on Target is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 12 noon on Saturdays.
