Ruling party now sadly in decline

- Zamayedwa Seuntjie Nofemela, Kilnerpark, Pretoria

AS a loving cadre of the ANC today is a sad day for me.

The chicken are coming home to roost. I am very depressed. Indeed it is a pity and sad day for us who are the diehards of the ANC to receive the shocking results that the ANC’s support during the by-elections held in Nquthu last week dropped by three seats since last year’s local government elections.

It is worth pointing out from the outset that within the political context three seats is not a small number.

Hence I am anxious and restless, and weeping like a baby.

This is as a consequence of the arrogance of the NEC in general and the secretary-general specifically, who have led the party of the founder of our beloved nation, South Africa, Nelson Mandela to this demise of catastrophic proportion.

It always puzzles my mind why the poor performance of the party will be attributed to the president of the organisation, and yet the engine which ought to give oxygen and life to any party is the secretary-general.

Maybe the secretary-general will find time to read my notes which I shared, that apprised him of and warned him about the eventuality of losing the brand, ANC.

Although it is early days, signs are showing slowly but surely that the most respected glorious movement of the people of South Africa, and I should not hesitate to point out that even in Africa, is fading. It is no longer a question. It’s now a reality that in the not-too-distant future there is a huge prospect of kissing goodbye the brand ANC because of the stubborn NEC which has become too big for its boots.
