Top speakers line up for Leadership Summit
A LINEUP of top executives from the public and private sectors as well as civil society leaders are among the speakers at this year’s Leadership Summit which takes place later this month.
Speakers will explore the dimensions of ethical leadership and how this can be harnessed to create and cultivate a stronger strain of forward-thinking, responsible and sustainable organisations in South Africa.
Sipho Pityana
AngloGold Ashanti and Onelogix chairman Pityana will discuss ethical leadership in times of questionable business and government conduct.
He is a non-executive director of a number of manufacturing companies, including Aberdare Cables where he is the vice-chairman.
He is chairman of the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution and a convener of Save South Africa.
Nosipho Siwisa-Damasane
Siwisa-Damasane will talk about the impact of ethical leadership on organisational performance and employee behaviour.
She is a highly experienced executive with 22 years’ senior management and operations experience in port terminals, logistics, and supply chain (port and rail integration).
She is a former chief executive of the Richards Bay Coal Terminal and former chief operating officer at Transnet Port Terminals.
Siwisa-Damasane has a proven track record in leading large organisations and SBUs.
Skhumbuzo Macozoma
Sanral’s new chief executive Macozoma will explore the purpose of leadership and leading with purpose.
He was chief director of integrated infrastructure network development in 2005, responsible for road, rail and aviation infrastructure.
He also formed part of the team that developed and rolled out the National Freight Logistics Strategy to resuscitate railway lines in some of the country’s remote areas, and oversaw road and airport infrastructure upgrades for the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
Other speakers at this year’s event include Lincoln Mali, of Standard Bank, celebrated South African business leader Brand Pretorius, and Famhealth Medipark owner and MD Dr Jeff Govender.
The event will take place on June 28 at the Boardwalk Convention Centre in Port Elizabeth.
