- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

ENTRIES for the Home & Equity 10km race and 5km fun run organised by Body Concept Road Warriors Club close at sports shops in the metro at 5pm today.

However, late entries will be accepted at no extra charge at the Summerstrand Lifesaving Club between 5.15pm and 7.15pm on Friday evening and from 5.30am on Saturday morning.

The race, which is an EPA Participation League event, starts and ends at Pollok Beach and goes along Marine Drive into the Cape Recife Nature Reserve and back.

The fun run will go out along Marine Drive and return along the cycle path.

Participants are also urged to use the refuse bins to discard the used water sachets, especially in Cape Recife as it is a nature reserve.

In addition to cash prizes for the winners in the various categories, there will also be an EPA incentive for a provincial record and for time targets.

There will be a R1 000 cash prize for the school with the most entries in either the 10km race or the 5km fun run.

There will also be the customary lucky draw which is an attendance prize.

Entry fee is R50 for the 10km and R30 for the 5km.

A temporary licence fee of R30 applies to the longer race only.

EPA-registered athletes over 65 will pay a reduced rate of R30 for the 10km race.

Organisers will be collecting a voluntary donation for the Nkosinathi Foundation for the Blind.

The 10km race starts at 7am and the fun run at 7.15am.

The cut-off for both races is 8.45am.
