Scramble for points in premier games

- Mogan Segadavan

WITH six points separating the top nine teams, there should be several changes in the Motherwell Premier League this weekend when the teams return to action after a break.

Real Madrid will be defending a onepoint lead at the top of the log when they play Young Ideas on Sunday.

While Madrid had a bye last time out, Ideas suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wells United.

Ideas face a tough match against City Rangers tomorrow.

Highland Spurs, who trail Madrid by one point, will be watching the Ideas-Madrid match keenly.

Depending on the result, they could become the log leaders if they beat Wells United in the late game.

Royal Bucks, who trail Madrid by two points and Spurs by one, play Wells tomorrow.

Manchester United, who are handily placed to challenge the frontrunners, play Crystal Palace in the late game tomorrow.

After thrashing Milan Stars 5-1 in their last match United will expect to bag maximum points.

Tomorrow Stars should keep up their challenge with a win against struggling Young Romans, who have just one point to their name.

The First Division should also see several changes in the log positions.

New log-leaders Amathole play Scorpions – who have just four points on the board – tomorrow and NU29 on Sunday.

Happy Stars, who trail Amathole on goal difference, play FC Motherwell and Arsenal. While they will expect to beat Arsenal, they could struggle against FC Motherwell.

Motherwell Real Stars, who have dropped from first to fourth, play NU29 and FC Motherwell.
