No peace ahead for United

- Mogan Segadavan

NEW log-leaders Peace United face tough matches against Morning Stars tomorrow and Walmer Stars on Sunday in the Walmer premier soccer league.

Last week, both Stars teams scored resounding victories. Morning Stars thrashed Manchester United 4-1, while Walmer Stars beat Airport Valley United 5-2 and Brazil United 4-1.

Golden Heroes, who were toppled from the top of the log last weekend after they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ghetto Stars, play Walmer Hotspurs on Sunday.

Hotspurs had a walkover against Brazil United and drew 2-2 with Eleven Experience last week.

Ghetto, who must have their tails up after toppling Heroes from the top of the log, face a tough match against Morning Stars on Sunday. With a match in hand, Morning trail Ghetto by three points.

African Aces, who are just a point behind Peace and Heroes, should have an easy match against tailenders Airport Valley City, who have just one point against their name. They conceded both their matches last week.

Real Madrid, who are handily placed to challenge the front-runners, play Airport Valley United tomorrow. Last week they beat African Aces 2-1.

With just six points separating the top seven teams, it appears there could be several changes on the log after this weekend’s matches.
