Girl’s body found in Van der Kemp’s Kloof

PORT Elizabeth police are trying to identify a young girl whose body was found in Van der Kemp’s Kloof on Friday.

A group of people were walking their dogs in the valley connecting Bethelsdorp to Kuyga when they came across the body and alerted the police.

Police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said they were notified about the body at about 11am.

“The girl is believed to be between 10 and 12 years old,” she said.

Denim pants, as well as a red and grey jersey, believed to be the girl’s clothing, were also found on the scene.
