Two arrested in perlemoen bust

TWO suspects have been arrested after police discovered an illegal cargo of perlemoen worth millions of rands being transported in a five-ton truck they stopped in Beaufort West in the Western Cape early yesterday.

“Two suspects, aged 37 and 33‚ were arrested and about 20 000 units of dried and 155 bags of frozen perlemoen confiscated‚” police said.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Beaufort West Magistrate’s Court soon.
