Commend leader’s action
I WANT to commend Mmusi Maimane, for showing bold leadership in decisively dealing with the unfortunate situation in which his party finds itself around Helen Zille.
I watched Zille apologise and it’s clear Maimane led her to apologise to many South Africans who were hurt after her colonialism tweets because he is really personally angered by this.
That was refreshing to see in politics.
So now Zille has apologised and admitted her wrongdoing to those she hurt, which people can choose to accept or not.
But I want to know when will our President Jacob Zuma do the honourable thing and apologise to South Africans for his many crimes?
As a young black South African I was very hurt by Zille’s remarks.
However, I’m not disillusioned with the DA.
The DA is far beyond the individual of Zille, she’s a part of its history and the DA track record of clean governance speaks for itself.
We must get behind Maimane to fight the looting of our state resources. Our country needs a leader of his stature more than ever, especially right now.
