Gunmen raid Mali resort
AT least two people were killed in an attack by gunmen yesterday at a luxury resort outside Mali’s capital Bamako popular with Western expatriates, officials said.
Security forces had so far rescued 32 guests after gunmen stormed Le Campement Kangaba in Dougourakoro, to the east of Bamako.
There were no details of casualties but the attack was continuing last night.
“Security forces are in place. Campement Kangaba is blocked off and an operation is under way,” a Security Ministry spokesman said.
One of the dead was a French-Gabonese citizen and the nationality of the other was not yet known.
