Table-topping Leopards could meet their match

AFRICAN Leopards, who regained their position at the top of the Pelfa Old Buck Legends league last week with a resounding 8-1 win over Priory, could meet their match tomorrow evening when they host Shamrocks at the Londt Park Sports Club.

Last week, the Malabar outfit cost Kuyga Masters their place at the top of the log when they held them to a goalless draw.

After going three matches without a win, Shamrocks will be out to regain their early season form.

Masters could slip further down the log when they play Hearts in St St Albans.

In their last match, Hearts thrashed Old Grey 4-0 to tie with Leopards at the top of the log, but trail on goal difference.

It was a disappointing performance by Old Grey after their 3-1 win over Shamrocks the previous week.

Callies, who were held to a shock 2-2 draw by Westpark in their last match, will be hoping to score a morale-boosting win when they host Priory, who are one of the whipping boys in the league.

The unpredictable Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality could find it tough against Westpark at the Westbourne Oval.

Westpark are unbeaten in their last two matches.

In the final match of the evening, PE City host Old Grey at the Victoria Park Sports Club. Tomorrow’s fixtures:

NMB Municipality v Westpark (Westbourne Oval), Old Grey v PE City (Old Grey Sports Club), Callies v Priory (Londt Park), Kuyga Masters v Hearts ( St Albans), Shamrocks v African Leopards ( Londt Park Sports Club). AS the chasing pack stumbled, Ama-units pulled away at the top of the Nelson Mandela Bay Masters FA League over the weekend.

On Saturday, the log leaders thrashed PE Eleven 4-0 with goals by Khaya Xate (2), Eddie Fani and Anele January.

The following day an own goal by Luzuko Dyafta gave them a 2-1 win over Young Pirates.

After Khaya Xate gave them an early lead, Ayananda Nyiki levelled the score for Pirates.

On Saturday, a goal each by Zuko Jafta and Ntsikelelo Mdepha gave Pirates a 2-0 win over Veeplaas.

Volkswagen dropped one place to third after losing 2-1 to Eberspacher.

Monwabisi Ntsila scored both goals for Eberspacher. Banele Phezisa replied for Volkswagen.

On Sunday, Volkswagen drew 0-0 with Winners.

Eberspacher lost their second match 3-1 to Zwide Masters.

Lungile Davashe (2) and Andile MacClean scored for Zwide. Monwabisi Ntsila replied for Eberspacher.

Eleven Attackers moved into second place with a 2-1 win over Gqebera.

Mtunzi Mrwebi scored both goals for Attackers. Luvuyo Makwabe scored for Gqwbera.

Attackers squandered the opportunity of closing in on the log leaders when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Soweto.

Xolani Galela scored the winner for Soweto.
