Works a fusion of ideas

-

PORT Elizabeth’s Galerie NOKO is opening its mid-year exhibition this evening, called Diffusion or Fusion, with works by various artists.

Diffusion or Fusion will feature works by artists offering “diffuse” socio-political, cultural or traditional views on contemporary culture.

“The re-evaluation and presentation of perceptions and conjectures by these modern and contemporary artists is aimed at facilitating and enhancing the discussion of artistic observation and engagements,” a spokesman for the gallery explained.

The exhibition will see artists from different spheres showcasing their works.

They include the recent winners of the NewNowNext 2016, Siyavuya Ralo and Carmen Ford, who took first and second prizes respectively, at Galerie Noko.

Other exhibitors include Ley Mboramwe, Sita Suzzane, Arlette Franks, works from the Keiskama Art project, Nyaniso Lindi and Cloud Tchatanda.

The opening is at 5.30 for 6pm at the gallery at 109 Russell Road in Richmond Hill.

The gallery is open from Monday to Friday between 10am and 6pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
