Exciting weekend ahead in M’well league

- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

THE Motherwell premier soccer league is set for a thrilling weekend, with just eight points separating the top 10 teams.

Highland Spurs, who became the new log leaders after a close 1-0 win over Royal Bucks, will expect to retain their position when they play struggling Real Strikers tomorrow.

In their last match, Strikers were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United.

With just one point separating them, the match between Young Madrid and City Rangers should attract a lot of interest.

Madrid are a point behind the log leaders, with Rangers a further point behind.

Royal Bucks, who are tied with Madrid in second place, face a tricky match against Young Ideas.

Another match that should attract a lot of interest is the derby between Manchester United and Manchester FC.

Last week, United beat Strikers 4-0 and Crystal Palace 2-0.

The first division is just as close, with four teams vying for the title.

Amathole, who top the log on goal difference, play Motherwell Real Stars, who are four points behind.

Happy Stars, who are tied with Amathole, have a slightly

easier task as they face United FC. Of the four contenders, Real City have the best chance of securing maximum points as they tackle Motherwell United tomorrow and Young Tigers on Sunday. Fixtures: Premier league
