Act against taxis that break rules

-

WHEN will our DA-led law enforcement agencies, namely traffic officials and metro police officers, and SAPS have the balls to tackle the criminal taxi drivers who rule our beloved Port Elizabeth’s roads, man up and remove this evil from our roads?

All our esteemed wimpy law enforcement officials have to do is station themselves at major intersections during peak hours to see and arrest these degenerates of society who systematically skip red robots, cut in front of and push in front of us law-abiding drivers.

After mayor Athol Trollip was attacked while cycling on the Schoenies road suddenly regular patrols appeared.

Mayor Trollip, drive on your own down Cape Road during peak traffic times and maybe you will experience first hand what we law-abiding drivers have to experience daily.

WHEN will the taxis around Port Elizabeth be brought under control by the traffic police?

I am sure we have all experienced problems with the taxis that fly around Port Elizabeth, with drivers taking the law into their own hands, not stopping at traffic lights, cutting in front of us and almost causing accidents.

We have staff who use the taxis, and they are horrified that the driver can overload his taxi and race through red robots at risk to the passengers.

How can they be allowed to do this?

I see it every day, so does my husband but it appears that the traffic police either turn a blind eye or just do not care about the safety of passengers, who are forced to take the taxis to get to work.

The taxi drivers know how reliant their passengers are on the taxis, which enables them to take the law into their own hands and run with it.

Shouldn’t the DA be getting involved to stop the lawlessness?

When is it going to stop?
