Saders A women still forging ahead

- Neale Emslie

CRUSADERS A continued to forge their way to the top of the Eastern Province women’s first squash league with another resounding win in the latest round of matches this week.

This time it was NMU A who felt the strength of arguably the most well-balanced team in the competition as the log leaders, spearheaded by Anlen Murray, took another haul of full points.

Out of a possible 36 points in their three second-half matches, Saders A have picked up 33 and it is difficult to see them being overhauled with four rounds remaining.

The logs, however, are in a state of flux at the moment as a number of matches still need to be completed. Only once these games are played will a clearer picture of the situation emerge.

The men’s league also has a number of matches outstanding due to some juniors representing the national team in overseas tournaments.

However, defending champions NMU A have signalled their intentions with strong performances against Westview and Old Grey A, picking up 11 points and 12 points respectively.

This places them well on top, but Londt Park can close the gap once they have completed their fixtures with Profiles and Old Grey B.

Saders have also started the second half well, taking 22 points from their completed matches against NMU B and Westview.

Westview No 4 Thando Ncamani prevented a clean sweep for Saders this week when he achieved the notable feat of overturning a 2-0 deficit to defeat Dan Schultz in five, 11-4 in the fifth.
