Men can now rock eyeliner, bronzers

TOM Ford might have launched his men’s make-up line a few years back, but for those who want to disguise tired eyes, camouflage a breakout or bolster their brows without spending a small fortune, the options have been limited.

Enter, MMUK Man, a beauty line created by men for men.

Last week, the online retailer Asos started stocking the range, which includes a range of foundations, concealers, bronzers, brow gels and an eyeliner.

L’Oreal’s UK managing director Vismay Sharma has predicted there will be make-up counters dedicated to men within five years.

We asked some make-up artists for their expert tips for men:

Try a tinted moisturiser

“A good moisturiser will help to boost your skin’s natural radiance and means you’ll need less make-up,” British cosmetics brand Illamasqua’s head of artistry Nilofar Mussa said. Look for one that offers optimum hydration without leaving your skin feeling greasy.

If you want hydration and skin colour correction in one, a tinted moisturiser is the answer.

Invest in a concealer

If the idea of wearing foundation is a step too far, but you battle with red cheeks or dark under eye circles, concealer will be your best friend.

“A lightweight concealer, preferably a cream textured one, is best to correct any unevenness on the skin,” Mussa said.

The brow fix

Some men are gifted with strong brows, but when left to their own devices, eyebrows can become unruly.

Celebrity make-up artist Carly Hobbs has a handy trick: “All you need is some hair spray and an old mascara wand [ask a lady friend] – or you can even use a small beard comb.

“Spritz your chosen tool with the hair spray and then lightly comb through the brows.” – The Telegraph
