Manchester close in on Mofa Premier League log leaders Royal Bucks

MANCHESTER United closed the gap at the top of the Mofa Premier League table on Sunday with an easy 3-1 win over FC Angels.

Royal Bucks, who became the new log leaders last week following a close 2-1 win over Valencia, were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester FC.

They now have a slender one-point lead over Manchester United, who have a match in hand.

Both the frontrunne­rs had their second matches of the weekend postponed. Bucks were scheduled to play Real Strikers, while Manchester United were to take on Wells United.

Manchester FC thrashed Young Romans 5-2 in their second match of the weekend.

Liverpool, who are just one place away from the bottom of the log, caused the shock of the season so far, beating title contenders City Rangers 1-0.

This week, they continued from where they left off, beating Millan Stars 2-0 on Friday evening.

Young Madrid continued their slide down the league table when they were held to a goalless draw by Shinning Stars and lost 3-1 to Subs.

Crystal Palace, who moved four places up the league table after beating Liverpool 1-0 and Real Aces 2-1 last week, continued their fine form, sharing the points with City Rangers in a a goalless draw and beating Valencia 1-0.

It was another disappoint­ing weekend for Highland Spurs, who drew 0-0 with Tomorrow Stars and 1-1 with Young Tigers to slip to fourth.

NMMU Madibaz moved into second place on the Safa-NMB Women’s Stream A League table with maximum points from their double header.

However, they are way behind logleaders Highbury. The students beat Hearts 3-0 and African Chiefs 2-0.

It was a bad weekend for Chiefs, who lost 2-0 to Shatterpru­fe in their second match.
