TWO separate cases of house robbery early yesterday morning are under investigation by police.

The first incident happened at 1.45am in a Montmedy Road, Lorraine, townhouse complex.

Police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said three people had been in a townhouse in The Avenue complex.

“Four suspects forced open the garage gate and then entered the house through the inter-leading kitchen door,” she said.

“One of the occupants was sleeping in the lounge when she was woken up by one of the suspects. “The woman screamed and the suspects fled. “They escaped with a plasma television, an iPad, some clothes and cellphones.”

The second robbery happened at 2am in Greece Street, KwaNoxolo, in Booysen Park.

A 32-year-old woman woke up when she heard a loud noise and her husband screaming.

“One suspect pointed a firearm at her husband while the other suspect stood at the back door,” Janse van Rensburg said.

“The complainant ran to the bedroom where the children were sleeping.

“Two more suspects entered the house, taking the television, an Xbox, laptop, external hard drive and a watch before fleeing.”

Janse van Rensburg said a 20-year-old man had been arrested in Timothy Valley an hour later.
