Need honest ANC leaders
THE activism of the ANC should be a responsibility of members and leaders alike, informed by a coherent cadre policy that takes into account career-pathing among its activists.
ANC cadres should act as the custodians of the principles of fundamental social change, winning respect among their peers and society at large through their exemplary conduct.
They must be informed by values of honesty, hard work, humility, selflessness and service.
Patronage, arrogance, bureaucratic indifference, corruption and other ills arise, undermining the lofty core values of the ANC: to serve the people!
As branches did in the Eastern Cape provincial elective conference when they elected Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane provincial chairperson and his collective, who are humble and connected to the people, they must do the same at national level.
They must value the principles of this glorious movement. It is therefore as we march towards the 54th national elective conference we need a president who can adapt to the current phase, who will unite the ANC, and who will lead by values of honesty, hard work, selflessness, humility and service to the people.
Comrade Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa is that leader. His selfless and humble attitude with leadership experience gives much-needed hope for South Africa.
