‘SONGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME’

BAY jazz singer Titi Luzipo is presenting Being Woman at the Athenaeum tomorrow night. The concert will feature her mother and musician Vuyelwa Qwesha-Luzipo, award-winning pianist and composer Thandi Ntuli and trumpeter Lwanda Gogwana. ENTER ‘THE ART OF THE KITE’

THE Nelson Mandela Metropolit­an Museum invites Bay artists to submit artwork in response to the theme of wind-kites, mobiles, and flying machines. All entries will be on display at the museum’s ‘The Art of the Kite’ exhibition, from December 7 this year to March 4 next year. ‘ENCORE’

THE Music Society of Port Elizabeth is presenting a concert, Encore, on behalf of the Summerstra­nd Dutch Reformed Church, at a private house in Summerstra­nd tomorrow, at 7pm. ‘HELP MICAELA’

A FUNDRAISIN­G dance will be held at Cape Recife School on Saturday from 7pm to 9pm.

Tickets cost R50 and will also be sold at the door. The dance will raise funds for a 10-year-old Cape Recife pupil, Micaela, who has lost her eyesight and is in need of special software to continue her schooling. FRENCH CUISINE

THE Alliance Française will host a gastronomi­c dinner on Saturday at Fairview Race Course. Chef Alexandre Galmar from Reunion Island (France), and local chef Annelie Oosthuizen will prepare a “four-hand” gastronomi­c dinner using French cooking techniques and local produce. PARKRUNS IN PE

TAKE part in one of three parkruns in Port Elizabeth: PE Hobie Beach, Lady Slipper and Sardinia Bay. The free parkrun is a 5km fun run at 8am every Saturday. If you want a time, register for a barcode at www.parkrun.co.za. The Hobie run starts at the palm tree next to Shark Rock Pier, the Sardinia Bay run at the Grass Roof in Heron Road, and the Lady Slipper run at Falcon Rock. Inquiries for Hobie:
