Greeff’s rich vein of form to continue

- Herald Racing Editor

AFTER an impressive day on Monday when he won the first four races, trainer Alan Greeff is set to continue the roll at tomorrow’s Fairview Polytrack meeting.

He sends out Wish To Land in Race 2 and the gelding is expected to be involved in a massive duel with Tara Laing’s charge Ratso Rizzo. Either can win and it might pay to take boxed Exactas.

Wish To Land will have Greg Cheyne in the irons with Callan Murray aboard Ratso Rizzo.

In Race 3 Greeff will be represented by Mamba Mania (Charles Ndlovu) and Piera (Cheyne). The vote goes to Ndlovu’s mount, who only weakened late to second over this course and distance. He is taken to beat Lyle Hewitson’s mount Mischievious, who will be 100% fit now and could start at a tempting price.

Greeff’s charge Perfect Tale should be a popular bet in Race 5 over 1200m.

The four-year-old daughter of Sail From Seattle finished 0.50 lengths behind Pink Rock over 1200m last time, but won her penultimate start convincingly by 4.50 lengths.

With Cheyne up, Perfect Tale could be considered a Pick 6 banker.

She was bred at the Ascot Stud and co-partner Dr Ashley Parker will looking for another top performance.

Greeff could also have the upper hand in Race 6 over 1400m in which Cheyne will ride Coastal Spell.

The mare has been in great form this year and looks set to notch up a fourth career win for Parker, who owns her outright.

In the the November Stakes over 1400m, Greeff sends out Our Icon for Anthony and Angela, but he might battle against Gogetthesheriff, who looks hard to beat.

Trainer Jacques Strydom got this son of Go Deputy back to his best last time when Gogetthesheriff flew late to beat Rahvar by 0.50 lengths over this course and distance.

His merit rating remained unchanged and it will come as a bit of a surprise if Gogetthesheriff does not follow up, providing he jumps on terms.

Laing-trained Miracle Bureau is a big danger with Callan Murray up. The son of Trippi is also in great form and could push Gogetthesheriff all the way.

Greeff should also have a big say in Race 8 over 1400m where Cheyne rides Tin Soldier.

Race 1 is off at 13:30 and is a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1000m.
