Mugabe has last laugh in speech

-

THIS was the week that was:

Robert Mugabe’s resignation?

Robert Mugabe had the last laugh on Sunday when he made the world wait two hours before making his appearance on TV for what was “billed” as the announcement of his resignation!

But when at last he made his speech, albeit he lost his place and dropped his pages, there was no mention of his resignation.

Even the military generals “supporting” him were dumbfounded!

Did he purposely leave out sections of his speech or did he have no intention of resigning?

I suspect his wife, Grace, put some pressure on him.

My guess is Mugabe will negotiate a safe passage and guarantees with the army generals and Zanu-PF leaders.

Will he (and his wife) move to South Africa, where Grace is likely to face an assault court case, or will they go to Hong Kong or Dubai?

Grace could help lift retail sales in South Africa, her sons would boost car sales, and Robert Mugabe would be hounded by funeral parlours and life insurance companies!

State security minister guilty of bribery?

The DA is on the war path again, this time to lay a corruption charge against State Security Minister Bongani Bongo, who allegedly tried to bribe Advocate Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara to resign from the enquiry into state capture!

As an advocate (lawyer) he should be able to convince the ethics committee whether he was bribed or not.
