CREATIVE BLOCK

THE Creative Block and ceramics by Ayanda Mji are on show at the GFI Art Gallery in Park Drive. There is also a permanent collection of Ron Belling paintings on display upstairs in the gallery, which is open from 10am until 4pm on weekdays and on Saturday and religious holidays from 10am until 1pm. ART EXHIBITION­S

THE Nelson Mandela Metropolit­an Art Museum at 1 Park Drive is showing four exhibition­s: In Colour, The Art of the Kite, In 3D and The Friendly City. The first three exhibition­s will be on show until February 2 and The Friendly City closes in mid-February. The NMMAM is open from 9am-5pm weekdays, but is closed on Tuesday mornings, weekends, public holidays. Inquiries: (041) 506-2000.

PARKRUN IN PE

TAKE part in one of the three parkruns in Port Elizabeth: PE Hobie Beach, Lady Slipper and Sardinia Bay. The parkrun is a 5km fun run at 8am every Saturday, which is free and open to all but if you want a time please register for a barcode at www.parkrun.co.za. The Hobie run starts at the palm tree next to Shark Rock Pier, the Sardinia Bay run starts at the Grass Roof in Heron Road, and the Lady Slipper run at Falcon Rock. VALLEY MARKET

THE popular Valley Market is on Saturday, from 9am to 2pm at the Tramways Building in Baakens Valley. Friends and families can enjoy a range of food from Indian curries and gourmet burgers to organic vegetables and artisanal chocolate. The market also offers a well-equipped children’s entertainm­ent area with jumping castles, soft play and many other creative activities, so parents can relax and have a break.
