SOME of the attacks on ambulances and their crew last year include:

January 10, 4.11am: Cellphone stolen from an ambulance in Kensington;

January 16, 11.54am: Crew member assaulted with a spade in Algoa Park;

March 9, 8.50pm: Crew member robbed at gunpoint in Sidwell;

May 12, 4.12am: Crew robbed of their cellphones at gunpoint in Schaudervi­lle;

May 25, 6.10pm: Ambulance stoned in Gelvandale;

June 6, 10.55am: Ambulance petrol-bombed in Wells Estate;

June 22, 11.39am: Ambulance stoned in Gelvandale;

July 3, 1.24am: Ambulance crew witness a fatal shooting and are seen by the perpetrato­rs. At the time they were trying to help two seriously injured patients in Kwazakhele. One of the patients died;

July 9, 12.07am: Ambulance stoned in KwaNoxolo;

August 12, 5.15am: Crew member shot at in New Brighton but did not sustain any injuries. ý August 18, 2.38pm: A gun pointed at an ambulance crew attending a scene in Arcadia; they escape unharmed

August 31, 3am: Personal belongings of crew stolen from an ambulance in Kwazakhele;

September 22, 4.26pm: Crew attending to a person with life-threatenin­g injuries shoved aside by a suspect in Kwazakhele who then stabbed the patient with a screwdrive­r;

November 8, 4.54pm: People start firing shots inside the house next door at a patient being attended to by the crew;

November 12, 6.45pm: An ambulance stoned in Stanford Road near Cleary Park.

November 22, 8.30pm: Crew robbed at gunpoint in Missionval­e;

November 27, 2.06am: Crew member robbed outside a house in KwaNobuhle of her cellphone by two men with knives;

December 15, 2.20am: Ambulance window smashed with a brick while the crew transports a pregnant woman to hospital. One crew member sustains a head injury and another receives treatment for glass in his eyes.
