Snyman provides photos and detailed instructio­ns to show the novice how to get going on this popular hobby, starting with the tools and basic stitches.

ý Mad About Metal by Monica Fischer, Suzan Cumpsty and Lee Vorster

Mad About Metal is published by Metz Press and retails for around R225.

In it the authors show the decorative possibilit­ies of pliable craft metal, and how you can use coloured craft metal and then emboss, cut or add colour and texture.

The projects range from beginners to advanced level, and include a section on upcycling as well as tips and tricks to make the process simpler.

ý Frames Galore by Fransie Snyman

Experience­d crafter Snyman – she has written more than 10 books – shows that you do not necessaril­y need to spend a fortune on profession­al framing.

The projects she covers in Frames Galore range from simple to elaborate, using items often found in and around the house. Frames Galore is published by Metz Press and retails for around R220.
