Tail could still wag dog as Safa fixtures resume

IT will be interestin­g to see whether the tail continues to wag the dog this weekend when the Safa SAB League resumes.

Before the Easter break FC Winners beat the top two teams to move away from the relegation zone.

They play PE Sundowns at the Mawabo Dyubhe Stadium tomorrow and Golden Aces at the Zwide Stadium on Sunday. Maximum points will see them continue their climb up the table.

Log leaders NMU Madibaz play Hearts this evening and host Despatch Pioneers at the south campus on Sunday.

Hearts are having a dismal time after starting the year at the top of the log.

They are now eighth and the students will expect to win both matches.

Major Chiefs will do well to come away with at least one win when they face Pioneers and Young Ideas.

SHOWVILLAG­E United Brothers, who head the Motherwell premier league, face a tough match at the NU11 Stadium tomorrow against Real Aces.

Aces drew 1-1 with Tomorrow Stars in their last match.

Joint log leaders Shining Stars are up against Real Strikers.

Manchester United, who are one of three teams tied in second place, play SUBS tomorrow and should return to their winning ways.

Crystal Palace will be hoping to repeat their thumping 4-0 win over City Rangers when they take on Young Madrid on Sunday.

HAVING had a bye before the Easter break, frontrunne­rs Young Cosmos and Morning Stars will be back in action when the Walmer premier league resumes this weekend.

Cosmos play Airport Valley United while Stars take on Peace United. Both matches will be played tomorrow.

After their impressive 5-1 win over Mighty Eagles in their last match, Peace are third on the log.

Golden Heroes, who were in scintillat­ing form before the break to become the new log leaders, play African Aces on Sunday.

Real Madrid, who are fourth, play Walmer Hotspurs tomorrow and Walmer Stars on Sunday. They should win both matches comfortabl­y.
