THE Pelfa Old Buck Legends League programme kicks off at various venues across the metro tonight.

Now in its second year, the league has attracted three newcomers – Central Acemates, Fairview Rovers and St Albans – with Hearts dropping out.

According to Pelfa match secretary Francois Rothner, the league has been inundated with applications after the successful debut season. “Unfortunately we had to turn them down.

“Because all our matches are played in the evening we can only accept teams that have floodlights,” he said.

Kuyga Masters, who were crowned the inaugural champions in a fight to the death with Callies, kick their season off against Priory, who finished at the bottom of the log with a dismal record.

Callies, who missed out on the league title by just one point, play newcomers Fairview Rovers in St Albans.

St Albans make their debut against Shamrocks at Londt Park.

A disappointing run-in saw the Rocks tie with African Leopards in fourth place.

PE City host newcomers Central Acemates in Victoria Park.

All matches are scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm.

Fixtures: Mahle Old Grey v Westpark (Old Grey Sports Club), PE City v Central Acemates (Victoria Park), MMB v African Leopards (Westbourne Oval), Kuyga Masters v Priory (Kuyga Sportsfields) Fairview Rovers v Callies (St Albans), Shamrocks v St Albans (Londt Park)
