AFTER their resounding win over St Albans in their opening fixture of the Pelfa Old Buck Gin soccer league, Shamrocks were brought down to earth on Wednesday, losing 2-0 to Callies.

The goals came from Moenier Safedien (penalty) and Davey Brooks either side of the break.

Mahle Old Grey scored their second win of the week when they beat St Albans 3-0 after defeating West Park 4-1 on Monday.

Johan Bezuidenhout gave Old Grey a 2-0 lead going into the break and Travis la Mude added their third in the final minute.

West Park recovered from Monday’s drubbing to beat PE City by the same margin, with goals from Lionel Terblanche (2), Mike Frosler and Shane Jenneker. Cliffy Murphy netted for City.

Isheunesu Mazvarira scored in the dying minutes to help champions Kuyga Masters to open their account with a 1-0 win over African Leopards.

Rovers picked up their first point in a 1-1 draw with Priory Shamrocks.

Their goal came from Nathan Jones, while Kagan Assam equalised for Priory. THE close race in the Motherwell premier league will continue this weekend as log-leaders Showvillage United Brothers face Happy Stars.
