Greeff to dominate

- By RACING EDITOR

TRAINER Alan Greeff will be hard to beat in the popular Listed East Cape Nursery over 1 200m at Fairview tomorrow.

He saddles four runners Madame Speaker, Aloysius, Alfeo and Adalfieri – who all look formidable and with winning chances.

But the vote goes to Madame Speaker, who scored a runaway victory of 6.50 lengths in her third time of asking.

This run was pure class and jockey Teaque Gould will ride her for the fourth time.

Greg Cheyne is aboard Aloysius who drew right away in his first outing when he defeated Tune The Scope by 2.50 lengths.

His second run was disappointing, but can be ignored and this Scribante runner is sure to finish in the money.

Alfeo was consistent in all three runs with a second and two smart wins. Sandile Khathi retains the rider on another Scribante contender.

Trainer Gavin Smith’s hopes are pinned on Born A Bully who also rates a serious chance.

Born A Bully, who will have Muzi Yeni in the saddle, quickened nicely late when winning on debut and ran on in his next start when to finish third over 1 000m. He could now benefit from the extra 200m.

Adalfieri showed pace in a disappointing second outing, but needs to be respected.

His debut run in which he finished 1,05 lengths behind Alfeo and Say No More predicted a bright future.

The Yvette Bremner yard will be shouting for Lyle Hewitson on Calla Lily who led in his debut run before tiring late.

This son of Sail From Seattle seems good enough to give the favourites a run for their money.

Punters also need to keep a close eye on the betting of Grant Paddock’s Say No More and another Smith runner, The Highway Man.

Say No More is in good form and should be in with a shout at the death.

The Highway Man won his debut and only race with a strong late run over 1 000m. He should also like the extra 200m.

The Nursery is a very competitive field, but the chances are good Greeff could have three horses in the first four past the post.

The nine-race card starts at 1210 with a Maiden Juvenile Plate for maiden twoyear-olds over 1 000m.

Muzi Yeni could get punters off to a winning start when he rides Super Socks for the Smith yard in Race 1.
