Harlequins scrape past Park in Challenge

HARLEQUINS once again proved to be a hoodoo team for Park when they came from behind to edge them 30-27 at Londt Park in an action-packed Grand Challenge club rugby match in Port Elizabeth at the weekend.

In another clash, Gardens were too strong for Windvogel, easily beating them 44-5.

Missionval­e were once again punching above their weight when they held Progress to a 22-22 draw in a thrilling encounter.

Suburban lost 22-10 to Star of Hope at home.

Despatch ran in six tries to two when they beat Gelvan Wallabies 39-12 at Chapman High School.

SAPS annihilate­d African Bombers 49-11 at Kemsley Park in what proved to be a one-sided game, while Kruisfonte­in edged Madibaz 15-14 in a tightly contested match.

Spring Rose suffered their second defeat when they lost to United Barbarians 36-18, while Jeffreys Bay recorded their first win, beating Born Fighters 24-13.

The match between Trying Stars and Grahamstow­n Brumbies in Alexandria was postponed due to the non-arrival of a referee.
