Defending champs almost in pound seats

NMU Madibaz could be crowned the Safa-NMB SAB League soccer champions for the second successive year this weekend with two matches to spare.

Full points from their matches against Major Chiefs and Roaring Tigers will give them an unassailable 61 points.

Even four out of the six points could be good enough as they have a far better goal average than Chiefs.

In their other matches of the weekend, Tigers play Mabayibone Strikers at the Chevrolet Stadium and Chiefs meet Highland Spurs.

While Tigers need to win to maintain their top-eight berth, Chiefs could lose the runners-up spot to Fairview Rovers, who trail them by a mere three points.

Hearts must beat both Motherwell Academy and Mabayibone Strikers to challenge for third place.
