JAZZ LUNCH HOUR

NELSON Mandela University is holding a jazz lunch hour concert at 1pm on Wednesday at the South Campus Auditorium. Two ensembles will be performing, featuring a diverse group of jazz students from first to final year in a variety of jazz styles including Afro-jazz, Salsa, Swing and jazz-rock. Several of the students (Temba Ncetani, Hezron Armoed and Elviro Vrolik) are already performing profession­ally. Jazz Studies lecturers and ensemble leaders John Edwards (piano) and Curtis Kettledas (alto saxophone) will also perform a couple of numbers with the bands. Inquiries: Nicky Bosman, (041) 504-4235.

ART EXHIBITION

THE Nelson Mandela University’s Bird Street gallery is hosting Fragile Histories an exhibition by South African artist and academic Keith Dietrich. The exhibition runs until June 8. Inquiries: Jonathan van der Walt, (041) 504-3293.
