Galerie hosts new exhibit
GALERIE Noko presents a new exhibition, Gender Flux, opening on Thursday at 6 for 6.30pm.
Gender Flux is a contemporary exhibition aimed at portraying social issues around the gender identity in the 21st century, engaging with subject matters such as patriarchy, feminism and gender fluidity.
This exhibition aims to use fine art, photography and fashion in challenging the way in which people perceive gender issues.
Artists who have work on show will include Pola Maneli, Jade Staples, Sibahle Ngcobo, Sisonke Papu, Liehandri Nel, Neliseka Cholidiza, Sihle Soldati and Luzuko Nomnganga.
As June 16 symbolises the struggle for human rights for the youths of 1976, the Gender Flux exhibition will create the environment for a critical engagement of contemporary issues that the youths of today faces, a spokesman for the gallery said.
Galerie Noko is open from Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
Gender Flux will be on show until July 13.
