Acemates look set to retain log lead tomorrow

- Mogan Segadavan

CENTRAL Acemates, who became the Pelfa Old Bucks Gin League log leaders for the first time last week after thrashing St Albans 4-0, should retain their lead tomorrow evening when they play Kuyga Masters at the Kuyga sports fields.

So far Kuyga have failed to reproduce the form that saw them crowned champions last year. Last week they went down 3-1 to Fairview Rovers.

Callies, who came back from a goal down in the first half to whip PE City 8-1 in Londt Park last week, could go on another goal-scoring spree when they take on St Albans in St Albans.

Mahle Old Grey, who trail Callies on goal difference in second place, should also have an easy match against PE City at Victoria Park. Last week they thrashed Priory 6-0.

African Leopards could end Fairview Rovers’ fivematch winning streak when they clash at the Westbourne Oval. Last week, Leopards edged out Westpark in a seven-goal thriller.

Shamrocks, who returned to their winning ways by beating NMB Municipality 5-2 last week, will start as favourites against Priory at the NMU South Campus Fixtures: Mahle Old Grey v PE City (Old Grey Sports Club), African Leopards v Fairview Rovers (Westbourne Oval), Central Acemates v Kuyga Masters (Kuyga Sportsfields), Westpark v NMB Municipality (Londt Park Sports Club), Priory v Shamrocks (NMU South Campus), St Albans v Callies. FORRESTERS retained their pace at the top of the Pefa Score Premier League on Saturday with an easy 4-0 win over PE Home Rovers.

At the Fairview A field, Central Acemates thumped Callies 4-0.
