‘Forever Young’ at Chicky’s

NEW Brighton-based group Clique Claq will perform Forever Young on Saturday, Youth Day, at Chicky’s Yard in the Baakens Valley.

The band consists of Siya Tora on vocals, Kamo Molebeleli on bass, singer Thoko Makamba, Luvuyolwet­hy Mjuleni on acoustic guitar, Qaqambile Qona on electric guitar and drummer Andile Nomjila.

Makamba said they had created the musical event to “bring the young and young at heart of Port Elizabeth together to celebrate Youth Day”.

Forever Young will not only showcase Clique Claq’s music but also gives a platform to seven other local musicians from the Bay, who will present a diverse range of genres including reggae, hip-hop, neo-soul and folk.

Lord Harmony, Miss Jay, Epic The Scriptwrit­er and Songo are among the artists set to perform, and the event MC is Zolisa Marawu.

Gates will open at 1.30pm for the 2pm show, and there will be a cash bar and food stalls.

Tickets are R100 and children under 12 may enter free.
