Flurry of soccer action at Walmer High

THE first round of the Walmer WBHO Councillor’s Cup knockout soccer competitio­n will be played at Walmer High tomorrow.

Airport Valley United will play Mighty Eagles in the preliminar­y round at 9am before the tournament-proper starts later.

The winners will play Eleven Experience in the final fixture of the day.

Premier league log-leaders Young Cosmos have a difficult draw against third-placed Golden Heroes.

The winners will play second-placed Ghetto Stars, provided they beat Walmer Stars.

In Sunday’s premier league action, Ghetto and Heroes should reduce Cosmos’s five-point lead.

Ghetto will play Hammers, while Heroes will take on Manchester United.

The log was redone after Two For Joy were expelled from the league over non-fulfilment of fixtures.

THE preliminar­y round fixtures for the Pefa KO Cup are: Tonight: Rising Stars v Callies (Londt Park), Chippa United v PE Home Rovers (Westbourne Oval), Mahle Old Grey v NMB Municipali­ty (Old Grey) Tomorrow: NMU Madibaz v Blue Ribbon St George’s (Union).

TWO matches in the Safa-NMB SAB league will be played on Sunday as the season winds down.

Both matches could influence the relegation battle.

The fixtures are: Amarhamba United v Golden Aces, Young Killers v Camper United.
