Night out in winter just isn’t so cool

Not warming to Jozi idea either

-

SERIOUSLY, is anyone else over winter already? Partying in coats and boots really does not do for me, especially when I have to spend hours putting together a warm but “slayer-friendly” outfit, only to arrive to an empty venue.

You’re wondering what I’m rambling on about, aren’t you?

Well, last Saturday night, as cold as it was, your gossip gal thought she’d go and mingle at the Wine Night Stand at Meat on Stanley.

By now you know how much your Skinners enjoys her wine, you say ‘wine tasting’ and you have all my attention. I’ll show up in a blanket if I must.

Anyway, your girl pulled together a decent one and imagine my agitation when I arrived to an empty, closed venue.

At this point, not only am I over winter but event organisers who cannot make up their minds or, at the very least, polish up their communication skills.

I later found out that the event had been moved to ArtEC in Central – but by then I had no desire for schmoozing.

The killjoy came after two nights of fun though. On Thursday, I went to check out the Kitibella pop-up boutique at the Tramways Building where singer Courtney Courus performed and mentioned that she would soon be leaving the Bay in search of greener pastures in the City of Gold.

While I haven’t really warmed up to the belief that Jo’burg is where dreams come true, I support anyone who shares it, so go on Court’, fly high songbird!

I spotted our young model Asande Mchunu who was wearing a Miss Princess of the World sash.

Wasn’t she crowned Miss Queen of the World and then recently Miss Friendship in Turkey?

Skinnerbek really can’t keep up with all these beauty pageants.

Anywho, she’s definitely one who did not have to move to Johannesburg for greener pastures.

I was back at the Tramways Building on Friday night for the Anga Comedy business session, an open platform for the youth to learn about entrepreneurship, followed by comedy and some music.

While the turnout was not the best, Skinners has definitely seen worse.

Ciao for now, dolls!
