MICHAEL BUBLE TRIBUTE

BAY FASHION FRIDAY

BAY Fashion Friday will take place tonight at 5.15pm at the open parking area on the corner of James Street and Govan Mbeki Avenue in Central. Showcasing designers include Amanda Knots, Chwayita Vokwana, Shandre Michaels, Chap Studios, Thembani Selani, Walk in Closet and Rato Pela. Entrance is free but limited to 500 guests. BIG BENEFIT CONCERT

THERE is a Junior’s Reunion benefit at the Malabar Community Centre tonight with a black and white dress

theme and lucky draws. The main arena will feature old school, jazz and blues with entertaine­rs such as Patrick Lindoor, Algoa FM’s Kay-Cee, Roch-Le Bloem and Queenie among others. The second arena will feature RnB, hip-hop, and house, with DJs such as Sham De Funk, Chad Smith (Bay FM) and more. Doors open at 7pm and will close at one. FLORAL ART ON SHOW

THE Historical Society of Port Elizabeth is taking a “walkabout” around Coopers Kloof in Central tomorrow, starting at 1.45 for 2pm. Meet Margaret Harradine at the top of Burgess Street to hear all about the early inhabitant­s and concerns (and the present Albany Road itself) in this historic area, which will include the old Fire Station to the first St Paul’s Anglican Church and back again. BIRDWATCHI­NG TRIP

BIRDLIFE Eastern Cape is going on an all-day bird-watching trip to Oyster Bay near Humansdorp tomorrow. Meet Peter Hall at 6.30am at Schultz's in West Street, Newton Park to drive through. The group will meet Yvonne Bosman at the Kromme River, who will lead from there. The area is great for open country birds and target birds include the black-winged plover, white-bellied korhaan (a winter special for the area) and perhaps even Temminck's courser. MOTIVATION­AL TALK

THE Aurora Special Care Centre is hosting a fund-raiser on Wednesday at the Grey High School Hall at 12.30pm. Motivation­al speaker Brett Archibald will give a talk on how he survived at sea for more than 24 hours. Archibald fell off a boat and then fought off stinging jelly fish, attacking sea gulls and being hit by a shark, as well as treading water for more than a day before he was finally rescued in what has been called a modern-day miracle.
