18 top finalists recognised for excellence
Prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate Bay women
Tonight we honour some of the most inspiring businesswomen in Nelson Mandela Bay during the 2018 BWA Investec Regional Business Achievers Awards Port Elizabeth (RBAA), hosted at The Boardwalk Hotel and Convention Centre.
The prestigious competition annually seeks to acknowledge women in Nelson Mandela Bay in the business, corporate, professional and social arena.
The BWA Investec RBAA recognises businesswomen who have achieved excellence and noteworthy milestones in their careers, companies and organisations.
The 18 finalists have impacted significantly in the various sectors where they craft their diverse career paths. Winners will be announced in the following categories: Emerging Entrepreneur, Entrepreneur, Social Entrepreneur, Corporate, Professional and Government.
The BWA Investec RBAA judging process aims to enrich the careers of nominees, finalists and winners, BWA PE chairwoman Heather Dutton said.
“Every single one of the nominees can be so proud.
“Someone took time out to nominate them; this is a huge compliment and indicative of the role they play in our community.
“We as BWA are incredibly proud of this initiative, where we get to celebrate the phenomenal women in business in our city each year,” Dutton said.
Various city leaders have participated as judges, with the difficult task of selecting just one winner in the six categories.
The judges share their valuable time and expertise freely during the BWA Investec RBAA interview process and the entire judging process is audited.
Investec head of Private Bank: Eastern and Southern Cape Jacky Buys said Investec Private Banking was a proud sponsor of the Businesswomen’s Association’s Regional Business Achievers Awards this year.
“We’ve been headline sponsors for the past four years and continue to be inspired by both the calibre of women being recognised for their business contribution, as well as by the evolution of the awards annually.
“Our focus is on building relationships with our clients to empower them in creating, growing, preserving and protecting their wealth.
“Our congratulations to the extraordinary nominees and finalists being recognised this year. We are so proud of the work you do and commend your commitment to the Eastern Cape,” Buys said.
The sold-out event not only offers an excellent networking opportunity for members but also an opportunity to listen to top speakers such as social entrepreneur Wendy Luhabe, who is tonight’s guest speaker.
