Regional champs will honour Joshua
Algoa Motorsport Club will be hosting round four of the EP Regional Championships at Aldo Scribante Circuit tomorrow.
The programme will include EP regional saloons; EP sport and GT cars; the AMSC Coastal Challenge; street and fine cars, as well as club motorcycles.
The club motorcycle racers will have the opportunity to pit their skills against several national riders who will be coming along on the day to practise for the Port Elizabeth round of the SuperGP championships to be held at Aldo Scribante in August.
Up front in the modified saloons category will be a great battle as always, with the Scribante family of Celso and Aldo in their Audis fighting off Nick Davidson.
This month’s event has been billed as the Jason Joshua Memorial Race Day and it marks just over a month since Algoa Motorsport lost a fellow club member, mentor and friend.
The popular motorbike racer was killed in a collision with a bakkie on the N2 near Deal Party on May 26.
There will be an honour lap in his memory around the circuit during the lunch break tomorrow.
The procession will be led and followed by medics with their lights and sirens blazing, as Joshua was a qualified paramedic.
