DEPLOY ARMY AND POLICE

Anarchy: the destruction caused in Govan Mbeki Avenue could have been avoided if the police and army were deployed to control these criminals masquerading as striking workers! The damage caused to public property by these mindless people must be deducted from whatever settlement they are awarded.

Too often violence and destruction are used by anyone with a grievance, and it is time to stop. The ANC was the ruling party in the metro in 2002 when this problem started and should be held accountable!

WHOLE OF SA BEING DESTROYED

I agree with W S (“Municipal strike mayhem”, June 22), but not only this city, but the whole country. The motto seems to be rob, kill, trash and destroy.

WELL DONE!

I would like to congratulate Nomahlubi

Nazo on her wonderful work in the discovery of using fish scales to heal wounds and scars (“PE scientist chosen as finalist in competition for entrepreneurs aims to help others”, June 20). What a very clever, innovative woman.

WEATHER LAYOUT

I don’t like the new layout of the weather. Go back to the old way, it is easier to read.

LET BUSH GROW BACK

Bill Hue (“Build RDP houses at Beachview”, June 20), why on earth would you want RDP houses at Beachview? Rather bulldoze it and allow the bush to grow back.

GARFIELD TOPS

Congratulations. For the first time in years Garfield is both subtle and funny.
