ART EXHIBITION

The Nelson Mandela University’s Bird Street Gallery is opening Intersecti­on 100/135, a National Arts Festival 2018 Fringe exhibition, tonight at 6pm. The exhibition celebrates 135 years of creativity, commentary and art-making by the NMU department of visual arts, with selected works by undergradu­ate and graduate students. Ceramics SA Eastern Cape is also hosting an exhibition, Black and White, in another room at the gallery, at the same time. Inquiries: Jonathan van der Walt, (041) 504-3293.

KIRKWOOD WILDSFEES

The SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees 2018 theme is “Born to be Wild” and the annual festival takes place in Kirkwood from tomorrow till Sunday. It opens at 9am and will have more than 350 stalls, Christmas in July at Santa’s workshop, as well as live music on the Wildsfees stage. There will be a Kidz Zone, the Walk on the Wildside experience, a “skaapkop langtafel”, mohair expo, cooking demonstrat­ions, wine stalls, as well as agricultur­al, new car and outdoor expos. DIAS QUILTERS’ GUILD
