COMRADES legend Bruce Fordyce and his wife Gill were in the city this weekend for the launch of Port Elizabeth’s latest parkrun at Wells Estate.

The couple are the CEOs of Parkrun SA, the weekly free 5km timed event which is run every Saturday, starting at 8am all over the world.

The Wells Estate parkrun is the 145th in the country.

The first run in Port Elizabeth was at Hobie Beach followed by Sardinia Bay and Lady Slipper.

Richard Berg and Candy Boonzaier wrote their names in the parkrun history books when they became the first finishers among the men and women at Wells Estate.
