Zono seals Callies draw

CALLIES and NMU Madibaz played to a thrilling 2-2 draw in a Pefa SCORE Premier League match on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, Dillon Germshuys converted a free-kick to put Callies 1-0 ahead. The students then struck back twice to go 2-1 up.

With virtually the last kick of the match, Bongani Zono gave Callies a well deserved share of the points.

Callies beat Madibaz 2-0 in the Reserve League match played earlier.

In another close match, PE Homerovers and PE Defence drew 3-3.

Log-leaders Forresters whipped Mahle Old Grey 4-1.

UNITED FC blew their chances of moving up the Mofa First Division log on Sunday when they lost 2-1 to FC Motherwell. They remain in fifth spot. Motherwell moved up to joint second with Arsenal, five points behind log-leaders Young Romans, who had a bye over the weekend.

Tailenders NU2 Future Stars picked up just one point from their three matches.

They drew 1-1 with NU2 Sundowns on Friday and lost 3-0 to United FC and 3-2 to Motherwell Real Stars.

Real Stars lost 4-3 to Khuphuka Stars in their second match.
