Solid showing puts Acemates back in charge

It was an excellent weekend for Central Acemates in the Pefa SCORE Premier League.

On Friday evening they drew 0-0 with NMU Madibaz and on Sunday they thrashed Forresters 3-0 to regain top spot in the league.

A late goal by Kurt Petersen, his second of the match, gave Callies a 2-1 win over Blue Ribbon St Georges.

The halftime score was 1-1. In the curtain-raiser, Callies Reserves beat their St Georges counterpar­ts 3-1.

Mahle Old Grey upset the form book to beat NMB Municipali­ty by 5-2.

Maximum points against closest rivals Central Acemates in Londt Park on Wednesday evening will see Callies open up an eight-point lead in the Pelfa Old Buck Gin League.

The log leaders have been in devastatin­g form over the last month, scoring 30 goals with just seven against.

In the first round Rovers beat Old Grey 1-0.

Masters play tailenders PE City in a match they should win with ease.

A draw between Rovers and Old Grey will see Masters draw level on points.
