Hotspurs still tops at Nafa

Hotspurs remained at the top of the Northern Areas Football Associatio­n premier league after claiming four points from their matches at the weekend.

The Schaudervi­lle side overcame fellow contenders Wolves 3-1 in their first match of the weekend, then had a goalless draw at Rangers on Sunday.

Spurs now have 39 points after 21 games.

The five leading teams all still have a chance at top honours.

West Lake beat Glenville 2-1 on Saturday and Bloom Callies 2-0 on Sunday.

After going down to Hotspurs on Saturday, Wolves, the defending champions beat Shamrocks 2-0 on Sunday.

Fairview Rovers slipped to fourth after a 1-0 victory over Fairdene on Sunday.

Their Saturday match against Saints was postponed.

Helenvale have taken four points with a 4-1 victory over Bloom Callies and a 2-2 draw with Celtic.

Rangers, Celtic and Saints will need to show their credential­s over the next few weeks.
