Despatch let fly with tries to defeat Muir

-

A runaway try-fest in the first half secured a 52-33 victory for Despatch against Muir in their schools rugby match in Uitenhage on Saturday.

The visitors began the game with gumption and dominated possession from the start.

Despatch flyhalf Donzé Landman initially launched a few well-placed kicks to set up the chase.

Wings Rynardt Claasen and Graham Galvin led the way and remained impressive throughout the game.

Muir’s defence began to disintegrate as Despatch ran amok. The loose trio punched holes everywhere and combined well with the backs for six tries before the break.

The home side managed two tries with mere scraps of possession but it was scant relief from the sleek running Despatch had produced. The visitors led 40-14 at halftime.
